【その２：デザインに興味のある方、必見！】シブヤプロダクツ科振り返りレポート！

2009年4月に一期生を迎えてスタートしたシブヤプロダクツ科。早いものであと２カ月で１年が経とうしています。
企業や地域とコラボしながら「デザインの楽しさ」と「企画の面白さ」と「実践する大切さ」を学べるシブヤプロダクツ科の１年を、実施した授業やイベントを紹介しながら、実際に在籍している学生の声も交えつつ、振り返ってみます！
今回は学生２名に話を聞きました。シブヤプロダクツ科１年大泉尚之さんとシブヤプロダクツ科１年土屋貴之さんです！

■通常授業スタート

通常授業がスタート。実施授業は「デザイン造形」「デジタルイメージ演習」「フィールドワーク」「プレゼンテーション」「メディアコミュニケーション」「デザインリサーチ」「プロトタイプ演習」「グループワーキング」
---------------------------

　－実践的な授業の多いシブヤプロダクツ科ですが、基礎造形の授業ももちろんやっていきます。通常授業の印象を教えてください。

大泉）僕はデザインをまったくやったことがない人間でしたが、振り返ってみて、間違いなく基礎力は身につきましたね。ほんとうにまったくやったことが無かったので、いろんなことをたくさん吸収できました。ひとつひとつ身についている実感が、また楽しかったですね。

－どんなところでその成長を実感しますか？

大泉）デッサンの授業では、そういうことをすごく実感しますね。ものの見方や描き方のコツを教えてもらいました。

－作品を見せてもらってもいいですか？

大泉）一番はじめの作品です。

大泉）でこれが、最近の作品です。

－おおっ！随分と変わりましたね。

大泉）いやあ。自分でわかるくらい、変わりました。
そして、自信にもなりましたが、また自分にむけての課題が見えてきました。

－土屋君はシブヤプロダクツ科の通常授業を受けてみて、どう感じましたか。

土屋）入る前は「絵を描く場所」だと思っていました。でも、入ってからはデザインっていうのは、「つくるだけじゃなくて、仕組みや企画を考えたりする」んだなあ、と思いました。そして、つくったあとにそれで終わりではなくて、どう使われるかを考えられるようになりました。

　－仕組みや企画を考える、という言葉が出てきましたが、１年間学んだ今、入学時との企画の立て方に違いを感じますか？

土屋）使う人をイメージするようになりました。入学時の企画は、自分のやりたいことが中心でした。今つくっているものも、もちろん自分のやりたいことでもありますが、使う人や伝えたい人のことを考えていますね。

　－どんなことがあって、その考え方が身についてきたんですか？

土屋）じんわりと変わってきましたね（笑）あ、でもパッと気づくこともあります。

　－笑。それはどんな時ですか？

土屋）作品をつくり終わって振り返ったときに、気づきますね。これは誰がつかうのだろう。って。
まずは前期期末審査の際に作った小枝ペンでの振り返りですが、作品のクオリティに関することと、ユーザーに対しての使いやすさを考えました。その経験が、最近制作したポップアップカードに結びついていきます。作る前にこうしたい、こう伝えたい、という考えをもってやりました。

　－制作に取り組む前に、使う人の立場に一回立ってみる。

土屋）そうですね。細かいところへのこだわりなど、制作におけるやるべきことが見えてきましたね。高校の時に描いていた絵は、先生だったり友達だったり、ある決まった人にしか見せないものだったので、自分の好きなように描いてましたけど、今やっているものは、使うひと、伝えるひとのことをすごく考えます。
人にどう、よりよく使ってもらえるかとか。いろんなものを感じてもらえるかとか。アート的な感覚を、どうデザインに落とし込んでいくかってことで、悩んでいますし、今後の課題でもあります。

　－悩んでいるってわりには、キラキラしてますね（笑）

土屋）笑。そうですね。日々成長を実感できます。楽しんでます！
